I’m not saying that self-awareness is bad; it does sound good, but I think it makes you a lot more aware of yourself. When you are on the road, you have a choice; you choose to go the right direction. And, if you don’t have that choice, you have a choice to get lost in the traffic and get lost in the road.
Not only that, but when you are on the road, all of your habits, routines, impulses, and reactions are your doing. So if you are not making effort to observe them, they are setting themselves free. When you are on the road, you are the driver, so make sure you have a plan and are aware of it.
Of course, making effort to make effort is not always easy. However, it is very doable. You can set yourself reminders (in your phone, via an app, etc.) to keep yourself aware of your habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. Most apps will do this automatically, but you can ask them to do so manually. I like to write down my habits and routines on a piece of paper so I can refer to them whenever I need to.

The way I keep my notebooks together is by having a group of them. I have notebooks that I use for taking notes, and a notebook that I use for writing.
